McPeek's Timepiece was founded in 1976 by my grandfather, Robert McPeek Sr., following his retirement as the Assistant Chief of Police of the Salinas Police Department, after 28 years of service. Robert Sr. studied horology under Master watch and clockmaker Harry Johnson. The business was founded with a commitment to the quality restoration and sales of fine timepieces, such as Rado watches. My grandfather often mentioned that as a business owner, his greatest reward came from the happiness of his customer when he returned treasured timepieces like antique Longines watches, restored to their original beauty and functionality. My father, Robert Jr., started working with my grandfather a few years later. In 1989, I began my five year apprenticeship with Robert Sr. I attended the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors School of Horology in Columbia, Pennsylvania to further my skills as a master craftsman able to work with fine timepieces like Tutima watches. In 1996 I acquired the business from my grandfather. My wife and business partner works with me and together we manage all aspects of the business. McPeek's Timepiece is in beautiful Monterey, California, on the main thoroughfare, Lighthouse Avenue. We are conveniently located just a few blocks up from the world famous Cannery Row and Monterey Bay Aquarium. McPeek's Timepiece was founded on the principle of providing top quality, personalized sales and service of fine timepieces like Glycine watches.
